I believe that the class went well overall. The things discussed during the class was a reiteration of information but broken down into detail. I succeeded in the tests. They were not easy test but they were a lot of common sense. I did not succeed in the blogs. Mainly Because I don’t like to write. My performance this semester reflects my motivation. I started out well then I passed the tsi and my motivation went down hill. As well as my grades. In the future I plan on doing things differently. That being I will study more. Find or make time to do homework or work that is due.
Charles M. Blow’s Library visit, then held at gunpoint? Charles Blow’s article titled “ Library Visit, Then Held at Gunpoint? ” published in the New York Times Stood out to me because the way Charles Blow portrays his son intrigues me. Charles Blow portrays his son, who is a Yale student, as an above average student. He starts off by telling us that it’s Saturday evening and his son is at the library. Then he moves on to tell you that since his son was at the library he might as well put in a request for some multimedia equipment he will need for a future project. The way Charles Blow’s language changes throughout the article is a representation of how professional writers will use a certain type of word and change it to something else in the passage. For example in Charles Bow’s article the title says “held at gunpoint”, in the subheading he uses the word “detained”, later in the passage he states that his son was “accosted” by a campus police. I agree with you about how the test were hard and that you needed to think more about each question.
ReplyDeleteIm glad you succeeded on the test but for the writing i hope one day you realize that there is no way around it and find a way that best helps you get through your writing assignments in the future.
ReplyDeleteI hope you start writing someday because through college and life you have to write about somethings you can not get around. Succeeding test is a very good skill to have because sometimes I do not have that skill.
