Post exam #1
Exam number
one was easier than expected for me. I was stressing over it for no reason. Once
I got the exam I felt like it came to me for the most part. The exam was nothing
like I expected. It was shorter than expected. The easiest part of the exam for
me was the second from last page, the page that had all the fill in the blank
answers. The hardest part of the exam for me was the definitions in a complete
sentence. It was not the complete sentence that made it hard for me it was
defining words. I generally have a hard time remembering the definition of a
word. Especially when put under the pressure of an exam. For a person taking their
first short answer exam, I would say study more than you would for another
exam. It is not like a multiple-choice text where you can usually deduce it down
to two answer choices and if you do not know the answer you have a fifty-fifty
shot. You must be able to answer the question and explain your answer in a way
that makes sense to the person grading your test. Learn how to spell the words
that are in your vocabulary that way you are ready for anything the exam throws
your way. Also, be prepared to know the different forms of the words and how
they are spelled. The bottom line for someone taking their first short answer
test is that you must be prepared for anything that the class has talked about
together.
Great advice I will keep that in mind and I hope that you passed with flying colors on your exam.
ReplyDeleteHey Adam, good advice like Sarah said but in the beginning there was a lot of sentences that could have been re-worded. you used the word "expected" to many times in my opinion but overall good response and hope you did good as well.
ReplyDeleteI may steal that last sentence as a quote for my future syllabus documents. Thanks for that. I'll toss you some black jelly beans as a royalty payment.
ReplyDeleteNow that advised I could take to the bank and cash! I will defiantly take note of your suggestions and apply them to the next exam.
ReplyDeletei like the last sentence of this blog it really hits home for me and it makes me feel like i should be more engaged. and i was just as stressed as you were about this test but yet i ended up feeling the same you did about it.
